Hadith 3811
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَمْ نَرَ الْجُيُوشَ يُهَيِّجُونَ الرُّهْبَانَ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَعْمِدَةِ، وَلَمْ نَزَلْ نُنْهَى عَنْ قَتْلِهِمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُقَاتِلُوا»
Bakr bin Sawadah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "We saw that the armies would not disturb those monks who were on the pillars, as long as they did not fight."
Hadith 3812
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْتُلُ الشَّمَامِسَةُ مِنَ الْعَدُوِّ، وَيَقُولُ: " لَأَنْ أَقْتُلَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَقْتُلَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ، وَذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: {فَقَاتِلُوا أَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَا أَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ} [التوبة: 12] "
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) used to kill the priests of the enemy and would say: "Their killing is more beloved to me than the killing of seventy others, because Allah says: «فقاتلوا أئمة الكفر»."
