بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَرْوَاحِ الشُّهَدَاءِ

Hadith 3736
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ {وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ} [آل عمران: 169] قَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّا قَدْ سَأَلْنَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: " أَرْوَاحُهُمْ كَطَيْرٍ خُضْرٍ تَسْرَحُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فِي أَيِّهَا شَاءَتْ، ثُمَّ تَأْوِي إِلَى قَنَادِيلَ مُعَلَّقَةٍ بِالْعَرْشِ، فَبَيْنَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذِ اطَّلَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ اطِّلَاعَةً، فَقَالَ: سَلُونِي مَا شِئْتُمْ: قَالُوا: يَا رَبَّنَا مَاذَا نَسْأَلُكَ وَنَحْنُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ نَسْرَحُ فِي أَيِّهَا شِئْنَا، فَبَيْنَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ طَلَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ اطِّلَاعَةً فَقَالَ: سَلُونِي مَا شِئْتُمْ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَبَّنَا مَاذَا نَسْأَلُكَ وَنَحْنُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ نَسْرَحُ فِي أَيِّهَا شِئْنَا، فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا أَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتْرُكُوا أَنْ يَسْأَلُوا قَالُوا: نَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَرُدَّ أَرْوَاحَنَا فِي أَجْسَادِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى نُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْأَلُونَ إِلَّا هَذَا تُرِكُوا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the verse «ولا تحسبن الذين قتلوا في سبيل الله أمواتا بل أحياء» [آل عمران: 169]. He said: We had asked about this, and it was said: "Their souls are in the form of green birds in Paradise, roaming wherever they wish, and they settle in lanterns hanging from the Throne." Then Allah, the Exalted, said to them: "Ask for whatever you wish." They said: "O Lord! What more could we ask for when we are roaming in Paradise?" Then they said: "Return our souls to our bodies so that we may be killed again in Your path." When Allah saw that they did not ask for anything else, He left them in that state.
Hadith 3737
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «أَنَّ أَنْفُسَ الشُّهَدَاءِ تَعْلَقُ مِنْ ثَمَرِ الْجَنَّةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The souls of the martyrs swing from the fruits of Paradise."
Hadith 3738
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: «أَرْوَاحُ الشُّهَدَاءِ تُحَوَّلُ فِي طَيْرٍ خُضْرٍ تَعْلَقُ مِنْ ثَمَرِ الْجَنَّةِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "The souls of the martyrs are transformed into green birds, which swing among the fruits of Paradise."
