Hadith 3615
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَ فَرَسِهِ بِثَوْبِهِ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَاتَبَنِي فِي الْخَيْلِ الْبَارِحَةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was wiping his horse’s face with his cloth one night and said: “Last night Jibreel warned me regarding horses.”
Hadith 3616
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ، قَالَ: زَارَهُ رَوْحُ بْنُ زِنْبَاعٍ، فَوَجَدَهُ يُنَقِّي الشَّعِيرَ لِفَرَسِهِ وَحَوْلَهُ أَهْلُهُ، فَقَالَ: مَا كَانَ فِي هَؤُلَاءِ مَنْ يَكْفِيكَ؟ فَقَالَ: «بَلَى، وَلَكِنْ مَا مِنِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ يُنَقِّي لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرَةً، ثُمَّ يُعَلِّقُهُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَبَّةٍ حَسَنَةً»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him): When Ruh bin Zinba’ came to him, he saw him cleaning his horse. He said: “You have family present?” He replied: “For every grain I clean, Allah writes a good deed.”
Hadith 3617
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ السَّكُونِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، «يَنْهَى عَنْ رَكْضِ الْفَرَسِ، إِلَّا فِي حَقٍّ»
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say: "Racing horses is permissible only for the sake of truth."
Hadith 3618
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا وَإِنَّا لَنَقْطَعُ الْأَوْتَارَ مِنْ أَعْنَاقِ رِكَابِنَا»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "We used to cut the thread necklaces from the necks of our horses."
Hadith 3619
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنِ الْأَحْوَصِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَجُزُّوا أَعْرَافَ الْخَيْلِ؛ فَإِنَّهَا إِدْفَاؤُهَا، وَلَا أَذْنَابَهَا؛ فَإِنَّهَا مَذَابُّهَا»
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not cut the hair of the horses' necks, for it is their adornment, and do not cut their tails, for it is their means of defense."
