Hadith 3555
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ، يَذْكُرُ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying.
Hadith 3556
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا فِيهِمْ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، فَغَدَا الْقَوْمُ وَتَخَلَّفَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ حَتَّى صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ، فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «أَلَا أَرَاكَ سَبَقَكَ الْقَوْمُ بِشَهْرٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، الْحَقْ أَصْحَابَكَ» فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ مَعَكَ وَتَدْعُوَ لِي لِيَكُونَ لِي بِذَلِكَ الْفَضْلُ عَلَى أَصْحَابِي قَالَ: «بَلْ لَهُمُ الْفَضْلُ عَلَيْكَ، الْحَقْ أَصْحَابَكَ» وَقَالَ: «رَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عَلَيْهَا، وَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عَلَيْهَا»
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) with an army, but he stayed behind to perform the Zuhr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your companions have reached Paradise a month before you; go and join them." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! I desired the virtue of praying and supplicating with you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, your companions have attained virtue over you."
