Hadith 3522
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ: كَانَ يُقَالُ: «حَجَّةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ غَزْوَةٍ، وَغَزْوَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ حَجَّةٍ»
Sayyiduna Abu Al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "It used to be said: One Hajj is better than a hundred battles, and one battle is better than a hundred Hajj."
Hadith 3523
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: نا آدَمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: «غَزْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ خَمْسِينَ حَجَّةً»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "One expedition in the way of Allah is better than fifty pilgrimages (Hajj)."
Hadith 3524
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ السَّكُونِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ أَصْحَابَهُ، فَقَالَ فِي آخِرِ حَدِيثِهِ: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَرَادَ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ، وَلَمْ يُرِدْ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ، وَاللَّهِ لَغَزْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ حَجَّتَيْنِ، وَلَحَجَّةٌ أَحُجُّهَا إِلَى بَيْتِ اللَّهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ عُمْرَتَيْنِ، وَلَعُمْرَةٌ أَعْتَمِرُهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ آتِيهِنَّ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ»
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: “Allah has intended ease for you. By Allah, one expedition in the way of Allah is dearer to me than two Hajj, and one Hajj is dearer to me than performing two Umrahs, and one Umrah is dearer to me than going to Bayt al-Maqdis three times.”
Hadith 3525
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْغَازِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ قَالَ: كَثُرَ الْمُسْتَأْذِنُونَ بِالْحَجِّ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «غَزْوَةٌ لِمَنْ قَدْ حَجَّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ حَجَّةً»
Sayyiduna Mak'hool (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: "On the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk, many people began to seek permission from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to perform Hajj. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For the one who has performed Hajj, a single expedition in the path of Allah is better than forty pilgrimages."
