Hadith 3296
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي أَخَوَيْنِ تَزَوَّجَا أُخْتَيْنِ، فَأُدْخِلَ عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا امْرَأَةُ أَخِيهِ، قَالَ: «يُفَرَّقُ بَيْنَهُمَا، وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا الصَّدَاقُ، وَلَا يَقْرَبُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا امْرَأَتَهُ حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّةُ أُخْتِهَا، وَيَرْجِعُ الزَّوْجَانِ عَلَى مَنْ غَرَّهُمَا بِالصَّدَاقِ»
Al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that two brothers married two sisters, and (by mistake) each was sent to the other's wife. So, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "They will be separated from each other, and each woman will be given her dowry, and neither man should approach his wife until the waiting period ('iddah) of her sister is completed, and both husbands will take back the dowry from the person who deceived them."
Hadith 3297
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَأنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا ذَلِكَ
Hasan al-Basri and Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on them, said: "In the mentioned case, this is the ruling."
