بَابُ مَنْ أَعْسَرَ مِنَ الْعِتْقِ فَصَامَ بَعْضَ مَا وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَيْسَرَ

Hadith 3288
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ فِيمَنْ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ رَقَبَةٌ مِنْ ظِهَارٍ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ رَقَبَةً فَصَامَ شَهْرًا أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ أَيْسَرَ قَالَ: «يَنْقُضُ الصَّوْمَ وَيُعْتِقُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَبْنِي عَلَى صَوْمِهِ وَلَا يُعْتِقُ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whoever does not find a slave for the expiation of zihar and fasts, then becomes wealthy, he should leave the fast and free a slave." Later he said: "He should complete the fast and not free a slave."
Hadith 3289
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا أَيْسَرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنَ الصَّوْمِ تَرَكَ الصَّوْمَ، وَوَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْعِتْقُ»
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If he becomes wealthy before completing the fasts, he should leave the fasting and free a slave."
