Hadith 2897
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا بَعْضُ، أَصْحَابِنَا، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي رَجُلٍ فَجَرَ بِأُمِّ امْرَأَتِهِ، قَالَ: «تَخَطَّى حُرْمَتَيْنِ، لَا يُحَرِّمُ الْحَرَامُ الْحَلَالَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Whoever commits adultery with his wife's mother has broken two prohibitions, but the unlawful act does not make the lawful marriage unlawful."
Hadith 2898
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: «يُفَارِقُ امْرَأَتَهُ، وَلَا يُقِيمُ عَلَيْهَا» . وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَأْتُوا الشَّعْبِيَّ، فَأَتَوَا الشَّعْبِيَّ فَسَأَلُوهُ، فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "He should separate from his wife and not remain with her." Then he said to go to 'Amir Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him), so the same fatwa was taken from him as well.
Hadith 2899
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ سَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ، فَقَالَ: ائْتِ عُرْوَةَ فَاسْأَلْهُ، ثُمَّ ارْجِعْ إِلَيَّ، فَأَخْبِرْنِي مَا يَقُولُ لَكَ. فَسَأَلَ عُرْوَةَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا يُحَرِّمُ الْحَرَامُ الْحَلَالَ» . فَرَجَعَ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ: صَدَقَ عُرْوَةُ، الْقَوْلُ مَا قَالَ
A Qurayshi man asked Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: Go to 'Urwah and ask him, then inform me. 'Urwah said: "A forbidden act does not make the lawful unlawful." Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "'Urwah has spoken the truth."
Hadith 2900
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي رَجُلٍ فَجَرَ بِأُخْتِ امْرَأَتِهِ، قَالَ: «لَا تُحَرَّمُ عَلَيْهِ امْرَأَتُهُ، وَيَعْتَزِلُهَا حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّةُ الْأُخْرَى، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ، وَيَسْتَغْفِرُ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَعُودُ» .
It was asked from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that if someone committed adultery with his wife's sister, he replied: "His wife will not become forbidden for him, he should separate from his wife until the waiting period ('iddah) is over, then return to her, seek forgiveness from Allah, and not do such a thing again."
Hadith 2901
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ.
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) also gave the same verdict.
Hadith 2902
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا عُبَيْدَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ
Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, also said the same.
Hadith 2903
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَيُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: «فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ بِأُخْتِ امْرَأَتِهِ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ فَكَذَلِكَ أَيْضًا»
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If this matter concerns a foster sister, then the same ruling applies."
Hadith 2904
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: «إِذَا زَنَى الرَّجُلُ بِأُمِّ امْرَأَتِهِ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِ امْرَأَتُهُ»
Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone commits adultery with his wife's mother, then his wife will become forbidden for him."
