Hadith 1832
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: «كُرِهَ نِكَاحُ بِنْتَيِ الْعَمِّ لِفَسَادٍ بَيْنَهُمَا»
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The marriage of paternal cousins was considered disliked so that discord would not arise between them."
Hadith 1833
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ «أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ بِنْتَيِ الْعَمِّ وَبَيْنَ بِنْتَيِ الْخَالِ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "There is no harm in marrying paternal and maternal cousins (female) at the same time."
Hadith 1834
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ ابْنًا لِعَلِيٍّ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ ابْنَتَيِ الْعَمِّ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَعْلَمَ بِذَلِكَ الْعَمَّيْنِ، فَأَصْبَحَتْ نِسَاءٌ لَا يَدْرِينَ إِلَى مَنْ يَذْهَبْنَ إِلَى هَذِهِ، أَوْ إِلَى هَذِهِ، فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو: فَقُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ: مَا هَذَا الَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ؟ قَالَ: «هُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْنَا مِنْهُمَا»
It is narrated from Hasan bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) that the son of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) married two paternal cousins, and neither party was aware of this marriage. The women were confused about whom to stay with. Hasan bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "We preferred this marriage out of the two."
