الْآيَةُ (41) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا وَاللهُ يَحْكُمُ لا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ}
Verse (41) His saying, Exalted is He: {Do they not see that We come to the earth reducing it from its edges? And Allah decides; there is no adjuster of His decision. And He is swift in account}

Hadith 1174
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا } - قَالَ: النُّقْصَانُ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Have they not seen that We are coming to the land, reducing it from its borders?” That is, there is a decrease in the land.
Hadith 1175
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، نَا جُوَيْبِرٌ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، قَالَ: أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَفْتَحُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ الْأَرْضِ ؟ أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ ؟ بَلِ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ هُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ .
Dhahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Have they not seen that We come to the land, reducing it from its borders?” That is, do these people not see that Allah grants victory to Muhammad (peace be upon him) over one land after another? Will they be victorious? No, rather Allah and His Messenger alone will be victorious.
Hadith 1176
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا } - قَالَ: الْقَرْيَةُ تَخْرُبُ نَاحِيَةٌ مِنْهَا .
Abu Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Or do they not see that We come to the land, reducing it from its borders?” — that is, the destruction of one side of a settlement.
