الْآيَةُ (8) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {اللهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثَى وَمَا تَغِيضُ الأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ}
Verse (8) His saying, Exalted is He: {Allah knows what every female carries and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. And everything with Him is by due measure}

Hadith 1154
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثَى وَمَا تَغِيضُ الأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ }، قَالَ: مَا زَادَتْ عَلَى التِّسْعَةِ الْأَشْهُرِ فَهِيَ الزِّيَادَةُ، وَهِيَ تَمَامٌ لِذَلِكَ النُّقْصَانِ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “He knows what every female bears, and what the wombs decrease and what they increase” (__QUR_N__). That is, any pregnancy that exceeds nine months is an increase, and this is the completion of that decrease.
Hadith 1155
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَمَا تَغِيضُ الأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ } قَالَ: إِذَا حَاضَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى وَلَدِهَا كَانَ نُقْصَانًا فِي الْوَلَدِ، فَإِذَا زَادَتْ عَلَى التِّسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ كَانَ تَمَامًا لِمَا نَقَصَ مِنْهَا .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “And what the wombs decrease and what they increase” (__QUR_N__) means, if a woman menstruates during pregnancy, that is a decrease in the term of birth, and if it exceeds nine months, then that is a compensation for the decrease.
Hadith 1156
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: عَدَدُ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ يَزْدَادُ وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ يَكُونُ زِيَادَةً فِي أَجَلِ الْحَمْلِ .
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Every day that the pregnancy increases is counted as an extension of the pregnancy period.
Hadith 1157
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: الْغَيْضُ الْحَيْضُ فِي الْحَمْلِ، فَلَهَا بِكُلِّ يَوْمٍ حَاضَتْ فِي حَمْلِهَا يَوْمٌ يَزْدَادُ فِي حَمْلِهَا حَتَّى تَتَوَفَّا الْحَمْلَ طَاهِرًا .
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Ghayz refers to menstruation occurring during pregnancy, and for every day that passes in the state of menstruation, one day is added to her pregnancy until she completes the pregnancy in a state of purity."
Hadith 1158
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، قَالَ: الْغَيْضُ مَا دُونُ التِّسْعَةِ، وَمَا يَزْدَادُ مَا فَوْقَ التِّسْعَةِ .
Dhahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Ghaydh is that which is less than nine months, and Ziyadah is that which is more than nine months."
