الْآيَةُ (98) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {قَالَ سَوْفَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكُمْ رَبِّي إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ}
Verse (98) His saying, Exalted is He: {He said, "I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful"}

Hadith 1144
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَمُرُّ عَلَى دَارِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَأَسْمَعُهُ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ دَعَوْتَنِي فَأَجَبْتُ، وَأَمَرْتَنِي فَأَطَعْتُ، وَهَذَا سَحَرٌ فَاغْفِرْ لِي . فَلَقِيتُهُ فَقُلْتُ: كَلِمَاتٌ سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُهُنَّ مِنَ السَّحَرِ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِهِنَّ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ يَعْقُوبَ أَخَّرَ بَنِيهِ إِلَى السَّحَرِ .
Muharib bin Dithar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his uncle that I used to pass by the house of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and would hear him saying: O Allah! You called me and I responded, and You commanded me and I obeyed, and this is the time of sahar (pre-dawn), so seek forgiveness for me. One day I heard him saying these words, so I said to him: I have heard you saying these words at the time of sahar. So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, Sayyiduna Ya'qub (peace be upon him) delayed his sons until the time of sahar.
