الْآيَةُ (72) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {قَالُوا نَفْقِدُ صُوَاعَ الْمَلِكِ وَلِمَنْ جَاءَ بِهِ حِمْلُ بَعِيرٍ وَأَنَا بِهِ زَعِيمٌ}
Verse (72) His saying, Exalted is He: {They said, "We are missing the king's measure, and for he who produces it is [the reward of] a camel's load, and I am responsible for it"}

Hadith 1134
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: { صُوَاعَ الْمَلِكِ } - قَالَ: هُوَ الْمَكُّوكُ الْفَارِسِيُّ الَّذِي يَلْتَقِي طَرَفَاهُ، كَانَ يَشْرَبُ فِيهِ الْأَعَاجِمُ .
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Ṣuwā‘ al-Malik" means the king's ṣuwā‘, that is, it is a Persian cup whose two edges meet together, and the non-Arabs used to drink from it.
Hadith 1135
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: { صُوَاعَ الْمَلِكِ }، قَالَ: إِنَاؤُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَشْرَبُ فِيهِ .
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Ṣuwā‘ al-Malik" means the king's ṣuwā‘, that is, the vessel in which the king used to drink.
Hadith 1136
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ (صَاعَ الْمَلِكِ) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite "Sa’ al-Malik," meaning the Sa’ (measure) of the king.
