الْآيَةُ (24) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهِ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوْلا أَنْ رَأَى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ كَذَلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ}
Verse (24) His saying, Exalted is He: {And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. Thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants}

Hadith 1115
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ الْبُرْهَانَ الَّذِي رَأَى يُوسُفُ يَعْقُوبُ .
Al-Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Humayd bin Abdur Rahman, may Allah have mercy on him, informed me that the proof which our master Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him, saw was our master Yaqub (Jacob), peace be upon him.
Hadith 1116
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { لَوْلا أَنْ رَأَى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهِ } - قَالَ: حَلَّ الْهِمْيَانَ وَجَلَسَ مِنْهَا مَجْلِسَ الْخَاتِنِ، فَنُودِيَ: أَتَزْنِي يَا ابْنَ يَعْقُوبَ فَتَكُونُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الطَّائِرِ ذَهَبَ يَطِيرُ فَسَقَطَ رِيشُهُ . ؟
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When Yusuf (peace be upon him) untied his waistband and sat near that woman in the manner that one sits for circumcision, a call came: O son of Yaqub! Will you commit adultery? So Yusuf (peace be upon him) became like a bird that flew and all its feathers fell off.
Hadith 1117
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُسْأَلُ: مَا بَلَغَ مِنْ هُمُومِ يُوسُفَ ؟ قَالَ: حَلَّ الْهِمْيَانَ وَجَلَسَ مِنْهَا مَجْلِسَ الْخَاتِنِ .
It was asked from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): To what extent did the intention of Yusuf (peace be upon him) reach? He replied: Yusuf (peace be upon him) untied his waistband and sat near that woman in the manner that one who performs circumcision sits.
Hadith 1118
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: رَأَى يَعْقُوبَ وَقَدْ عَضَّ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ، فَخَرَجَتْ شَهْوَتُهُ مِنْ أَنَامِلِهِ .
It is narrated from Sa'id bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him): Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw his father Yaqub (peace be upon him) cutting his hands, so the desire of Yusuf (peace be upon him) exited from the tips of his fingers.
Hadith 1119
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: رَأَى تِمْثَالَ يَعْقُوبَ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw an image of his father Yaqub (peace be upon him).
Hadith 1120
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: رَأَى تِمْثَالَ يَعْقُوبَ عَاضًّا عَلَى إِصْبَعِهِ .
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw a statue of his father Yaqub (peace be upon him) who was cutting his finger.
Hadith 1121
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُغِيرَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا جَلَسَ مِنْهَا يُوسُفُ ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسَ وَحَلَّ السَّرَاوِيلَ حَتَّى بَلَغَتِ الثَّفِنَ - تَمَثَّلَ لَهُ يَعْقُوبُ فَضَرَبَ صَدْرَهُ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا يُوسُفُ ! فَخَرَجَتْ شَهْوَتُهُ مِنْ أَنَامِلِهِ
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) sat near that woman and opened his trousers to the extent that his thigh became exposed, the image of Sayyiduna Yaqub (peace be upon him) appeared. He struck Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) on the chest and said: O Yusuf! Then the desire of Yusuf (peace be upon him) exited from the tips of his fingers.
