الْآيَةُ (21) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَقَالَ الَّذِي اشْتَرَاهُ مِنْ مِصْرَ لامْرَأَتِهِ أَكْرِمِي مَثْوَاهُ عَسَى أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا} الْآيَةَ
Verse (21) His saying, Exalted is He: {And the one from Egypt who bought him said to his wife, "Make his residence comfortable. Perhaps he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son"} the verse

Hadith 1113
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: نَا نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالُوا: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: مِنْ أَفْرَسِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةٌ ؛ الْعَزِيزُ الَّذِي اشْتَرَى يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: { عَسَى أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا } . وَالْمَرْأَةُ الَّتِي قَالَتْ لِأَبِيهَا فِي مُوسَى: { يَا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الأَمِينُ } . وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ حِينَ وَلَّى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أُمُورَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): He said that the three most discerning people among mankind were: the Aziz of Egypt, who, when he bought Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him), said: ﴿عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا﴾ "Perhaps he will benefit us, or we shall adopt him as a son"; and the woman who said to her father about Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him): ﴿يَا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْأَمِينُ﴾ "O my father! Hire him, for the best one you can hire is the strong and trustworthy"; and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) when he appointed Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) as the caliph of the Muslims.
