الْآيَةُ (87) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى وَأَخِيهِ أَنْ تَبَوَّآ لِقَوْمِكُمَا بِمِصْرَ بُيُوتًا وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً}
Verse (87) His saying, Exalted is He: {And We inspired to Moses and his brother, "Settle your people in Egypt in houses and make your houses [facing the] qiblah"}

Hadith 1072
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَاجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً } - قَالَ: كَانُوا لَا يُصَلُّونَ إِلَّا فِي الْبِيَعِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ: صَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ مِنْ مَخَافَةِ فِرْعَوْنَ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the interpretation of Allah the Exalted’s statement: “And make your houses a qiblah,” that those people, meaning the Children of Israel, used to pray only in churches, so it was said to them: Due to the fear of Pharaoh, pray in your houses.
Hadith 1073
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: خَافُوا، فَأُمِرُوا أَنْ يُصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When the Children of Israel became fearful, they were commanded to pray in their homes.
Hadith 1074
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ نَاسٌ مُخْتَبِئِينَ فِي زَمَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ فِي عِلْيَةٍ عَنْ يَمِينِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَوْقَ بَيْتٍ، وَكَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَيَأْتَمُّونَ بِهِ، فَسَأَلْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: يُجْزِئُهُمْ .
Mansur (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Some people during the time of Hajjaj were hiding in an upper room on the right side of the mosque; they would perform the obligatory prayer with the Imam and follow him. So I asked Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) about this, and he said: Their prayer is valid.
