بَابُ تَفْسِيرِ سُورَةِ يُونُسَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ الْآيَةُ (12) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَإِذَا مَسَّ الإِنْسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنْبِهِ أَوْ قَاعِدًا أَوْ قَائِمًا فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُ ضُرَّهُ مَرَّ كَأَنْ لَمْ يَدْعُنَا إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَسَّهُ}
Chapter: Interpretation of Surah Yunus (peace be upon him), Verse (12) His saying, Exalted is He: {And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues as if he had never called upon Us to remove an affliction that touched him}

Hadith 1055
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ مَعَ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَصْرَ الْكُوفَةِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: لَوْ رَأَيْتَنَا زَمَنَ الْحَجَّاجِ وَأُتِيَ بِنَا هَذَا الْقَصْرَ وَبِنَا مِنَ الْحُزْنِ وَالْغَمِّ ! فَقَالَ لِي عَوْنٌ: فَمَرَرْتَ بِهِ كَأَنْ لَمْ تَدْعُهُ إِلَى ضُرٍّ مَسَّكَ ! اذْهَبْ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ وَاحَمَدِ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيهِ وَاذْكُرِ اللهَ - نَحْوَ هَذَا مِنَ الْكَلَامِ قَالَهُ سُفْيَانُ .
Muhammad bin Sawqah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I entered the palace of Kufa with ‘Awn bin ‘Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him). I said to him: If you had seen us during the time of Hajjaj when we were brought into this palace and we were overcome with grief and distress! So ‘Awn said to me: Have you passed over it as if you never called upon Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in hardship? Go to that place, give thanks to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and remember Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, there. Sufyan narrated words of the same meaning.
