الْآيَةُ (118) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَعَلَى الثَّلاثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا حَتَّى إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ} الْآيَةَ
Verse (118) His saying, Exalted is He: {And [He also forgave] the three who were left behind [and regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness} the verse

Hadith 1045
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: { وَعَلَى الثَّلاثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا } - قَالَ: كَعْبُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، وَهِلَالُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، وَمُرَارَةُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ - كُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ .
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said about the statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: ﴿And upon the three who were left behind﴾, meaning: and also upon those three who were left behind. They are Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Hilal bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Murarah bin Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him). All of them were from among the Ansar.
Hadith 1046
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كَعْبُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، وَهِلَالُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، وَمُرَارَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعٍ - كُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: They were three—Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Hilal bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Murarah bin Rabi' (may Allah be pleased with him); all of them were from among the Ansar.
