الْآيَةُ (28) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلا يَقْرَبُوا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَذَا وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ إِنَّ اللهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ}
Verse (28) His saying, Exalted is He: {O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise}

Hadith 1011
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: نَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلا يَقْرَبُوا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَذَا وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ إِنَّ اللهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ } - قَالَ: كَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَجِيئُونَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ وَيَجِيئُونَ مَعَهُمْ بِالطَّعَامِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ }، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَطَرَ، فَكَثُرَ خَيْرُهُمْ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَنْهُمْ .
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Regarding the statement of Allah, the Exalted: "O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills" — he said: The polytheists used to come to the House of Allah and would bring with them food and drink, so Allah, the Exalted, revealed this verse: «وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ», then Allah, the Exalted, sent down rain upon them, by which their wealth and property increased until the polytheists became independent of them and left.
