الْآيَةُ (50) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ يَتَوَفَّى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الْمَلائِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ}
Verse (50) His saying, Exalted is He: {And if you could but see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved, striking their faces and their backs and [saying], "Taste the punishment of the burning fire"}

Hadith 997
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي مُجَاهِدٌ: تَدْرِي مَا قَوْلُ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ } ؟ قُلْتُ: مَا هُوَ ؟ قَالَ: وَأَسْتَاهُمْ، وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَرِيمٌ يُكَنِّي .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said to me: Do you know what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, means by His statement: ﴿يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ﴾? I said: No. So he said: What is meant by it is their faces and their backs, that is, their private parts. But Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is Most Gracious, so He expressed it in an indirect manner.
