الْآيَةُ (41) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَى} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ وَاللهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ}
Verse (41) His saying, Exalted is He: {And know that anything you obtain of war booty—then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives} to His saying: {The Day of Criterion, the day when the two armies met. And Allah is over all things competent}

Hadith 993
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا مُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ } - قَالَ: يُقَسَّمُ الْخُمُسُ عَلَى خَمْسَةِ أَخْمَاسٍ ؛ فَخُمُسُ اللهِ وَالرَّسُولِ وَاحِدٌ، وَيُقَسَّمُ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْآخَرِينَ .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Regarding Allah the Exalted’s statement: “And know that whatever you obtain as spoils of war, then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger...” he said that the khums (one fifth) is divided into five parts. Thus, the share of Allah the Exalted and His Messenger (peace be upon him) is one part, and the rest is distributed among the other entitled recipients.
Hadith 994
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ الْجَزَّارِ عَنْ سَهْمِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْخُمُسِ، قَالَ: خُمُسُ الْخُمُسِ .
Musa bin Abi Aishah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Yahya bin Al-Jazzar (may Allah have mercy on him) about the share from the khums of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: One fifth of the khums.
Hadith 995
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: { يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ } - قَالَ: كَانَتْ لَيْلَةُ بَدْرٍ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ مَضَتْ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted, “The Day of Criterion, the day when the two armies met,” he said that the night of Badr was the seventeenth night of the month of Ramadan.
Hadith 996
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: الْتَمِسُوا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ صَبِيحَةَ يَوْمِ بَدْرٍ يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ، وَفِي إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ، وَفِي ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ ؛ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَكُونُ إِلَّا فِي وِتْرٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Seek the Night of Qadr on the seventeenth night of Ramadan, which was the day of Badr, that is, the morning of ﴿يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ﴾, and on the twenty-first night, and on the twenty-third night, because the Night of Qadr only occurs on odd nights.
