الْآيَتَانِ (15 - 16) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا زَحْفًا فَلا تُوَلُّوهُمُ الأَدْبَارَ * وَمَنْ يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُ إِلا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَى فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِنَ اللهِ وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ}
Verses (15 - 16) His saying, Exalted is He: {O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs. * And whoever turns his back to them on such a day—unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company—has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell—and wretched is the destination}

Hadith 985
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: لَقِينَا الْعَدُوَّ فَحَاصَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حَيْصَةً، فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَاصَ، فَقَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَتَعَرَّضْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَحْنُ الْفَرَّارُونَ ! فَقَالَ: بَلْ أَنْتُمُ الْعَكَّارُونَ، إِنِّي فِئَتُكُمْ .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: We encountered the enemy, and the Muslims fled in such panic that I also fled with them. Then we reached Madinah, and when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out for prayer, we faced him and said: O Messenger of Allah! We are those who fled! So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Rather, you are those who returned; I am your refuge.
Hadith 986
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ: أَنَا فِئَةُ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I am the helper of every Muslim.
