الْآيَةُ (169) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الْكِتَابَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَذَا الأَدْنَى وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا} الْآيَةَ
Verse (169) His saying, Exalted is He: {And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us"} the verse

Hadith 966
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَذَا الأَدْنَى وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا } - قَالَ: يَعْمَلُونَ بِالذُّنُوبِ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا .
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted: ﴿يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا الْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا﴾: They commit sinful deeds and say, "We will be forgiven."
