It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The day Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, spoke to Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him), he was wearing a woolen cloak, a woolen sheet, woolen trousers, a woolen cap, and on his feet were shoes made from the untanned hide of a donkey.

Muhammad bin Ka'b al-Qurazi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It was asked of our master Musa (peace be upon him), "Among the creatures, what did you find Allah the Exalted's speech to be similar to?" He replied: "To thunder." 'Umar bin Hamzah al-'Umari said: A man said: Muhammad bin Ka'b al-Qurazi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "To silent thunder."
