الْآيَةُ (24) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {قَالَ اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ}
Verse (24) His saying, Exalted is He: {He said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time"}

Hadith 943
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ } - قَالَ: آدَمُ وَحَوَّاءُ، وَالْحَيَّةُ حَيْثُمَا أَدْرَكَهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ قَتَلَهَا، وَحَيْثُمَا أَدْرَكَتِ ابْنَ آدَمَ أَخَذَتْ بِعَضُدِهِ .
Hasan bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Suddi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding the statement of Allah, the Exalted: ﴿اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ﴾, he said: This refers to Adam (peace be upon him) and Hawwa (peace be upon her), and the snake is also among their enemies. Wherever the son of Adam finds a snake, he will kill it, and wherever the snake finds the son of Adam, it will seize his arm.
