الْآيَةُ (125) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ أَنْ يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلإِسْلامِ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقًا حَرَجًا كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِي السَّمَاءِ}
Verse (125) His saying, Exalted is He: {So whoever Allah wants to guide—He expands his breast to Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide—He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky}

Hadith 918
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مِسْوَرٍ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ مِنْ وَلَدِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: تَلَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: { فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ أَنْ يَهْدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلإِسْلامِ } فَقَالُوا: فَهَلْ لِذَلِكَ عِلْمٌ يُعْرَفُ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ ؛ إِذَا دَخَلَ النُّورُ الْقَلْبَ انْفَسَحَ وَانْشَرَحَ . فَقَالُوا: فَهَلْ لِذَلِكَ مَنْ عِلْمٍ يُعْرَفُ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمِ، الْإِنَابَةُ إِلَى دَارِ الْخُلُودِ، وَالتَّجَافِي عَنْ دَارِ الْغُرُورِ، وَالِاسْتِعْدَادُ لِلْمَوْتِ قَبْلَ نُزُولِ الْمَوْتِ .
Abdul-Muhid bin Abdur Rahman, may Allah have mercy on him, who was from the family of Ja'far bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited this verse: "So whoever Allah wants to guide, He opens his breast to Islam." The companions asked: Is there any sign for this by which it can be recognized? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Yes, when light enters the heart, the heart becomes open and illuminated. The companions asked: Is there any sign by which it can be recognized? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Yes, turning towards the eternal abode, that is, the Hereafter, distancing oneself from the abode of deception, that is, the world, and preparing for death before its arrival.
