قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَأَنْـزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ} .
His (Allah's) saying: {And We have sent down to you the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it}

Hadith 763
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا حُدَيْجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: { وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ } قَالَ: مُؤْتَمَنًا عَلَيْهِ .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said in the explanation of Allah the Exalted’s statement: ﴿وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ﴾: Its meaning is that it is a guardian and trustee, that is, trustworthy over it.
