قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَكَيْفَ يُحَكِّمُونَكَ وَعِنْدَهُمُ التَّوْرَاةُ فِيهَا حُكْمُ اللهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَمَا أُولَئِكَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ} .
His (Allah's) saying: {But how is it that they come to you for judgment while they have the Torah, in which is the judgment of Allah? Then they turn away, but they are not [in fact] believers}

Hadith 748
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى: أَرَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، رَجَمَ يَهُودِيًّا وَيَهُودِيَّةً، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَقَبْلَ سُورَةِ النُّورِ أَمْ بَعْدَهَا ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي .
Abu Ishaq Shaibani (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him): Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ever carry out stoning (rajm)? He replied: Yes, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned a Jewish man and a Jewish woman. I asked: Was this incident before or after the revelation of Surah An-Nur? He replied: I do not know.
