قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ}
His (Allah's) saying: {And wipe over your heads and your feet to the ankles}

Hadith 715
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: "فَامْسَحُوا بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ " قَالَ: عَادَ إِلَى الْغَسْلِ .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to recite the verse: "fa-msahu bi-ru'usikum wa arjulakum" in this way and would say: Its command returns back to washing again.
Hadith 716
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ مَوْلَى قُرَيْشٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا كَذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to recite the verse ﴿فَامْسَحُوا بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ﴾ in this manner.
Hadith 717
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا مَنْصُورٌ، وَعَبَّادٌ، أَنَّهُمْ سَمِعُوا الْحَسَنَ يَقْرَأُ: { وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ } .
Ubadah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) reciting: "wa arjulakum".
Hadith 718
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ: { وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ } .
Humaid al-Tawil (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated that he heard Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reciting: "wa arjulakum".
Hadith 719
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: { وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ } .
Hisham bin Urwah (may Allah have mercy on them) narrates from his father Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on them) that he used to recite the verse as: ﴿وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ﴾.
Hadith 720
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا دَاوُدُ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: { وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ } .
Ismail bin Abi Khalid, may Allah have mercy on him, says about Al-Sha'bi, may Allah have mercy on him: He used to recite "wa arjulakum".
