قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَإِنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا} .
His (Allah's) saying: {And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness}

Hadith 709
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَإِنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ } قَالَ: هِيَ فِي قِرَاءَةِ أُبَيٍّ: (قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِمْ) قَالَ: لَيْسَ يَهُودِيٌّ يَمُوتُ أَبَدًا حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَ بِعِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَقِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ خَرَّ مِنْ فَوْقِ بَيْتٍ ؟ قَالَ: يَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ فِي الْهُوِيِّ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ ضُرِبَ عُنُقُ أَحَدِهِمْ ؟ قَالَ: يَتَلَجْلَجُ بِهَا .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: In the recitation of Ubayy bin Ka'b, the blessed verse ﴿وَإِنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ﴾ «قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِمْ» is present, meaning no Jew ever dies until he believes in 'Isa (peace be upon him). It was asked: If he falls from a roof? He replied: While falling, he says it with his tongue. It was said: If someone's neck is struck? He replied: That same statement is upon his lips.
