قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلا وَاللهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى اللهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their protector; and upon Allah the believers should rely.}

Hadith 523
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ: فِينَا نَزَلَتْ، فِي بَنِي سَلِمَةَ، وَبَنِي حَارِثَةَ: { إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلا وَاللهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا }: وَمَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَنْزِلْ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: “The verse: ‘When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their protector’ was revealed about us, meaning about Banu Salamah and Banu Harithah, and I would not like that it had not been revealed.”
