Sunan Sa'id

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned.}

Hadith 505
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ طَاوُسٌ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَ وَلَدِهِ، قَرَأَ: { أَفَحُكْمَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ } .
When Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked if a person gives preference to some of his children over others, he would recite this verse: "Do they seek the judgment of ignorance?"
