قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَعَهِدْنَا إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ أَنْ طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ وَالْعَاكِفِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ}
His saying, Exalted is He: {And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, "Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who stay for worship and those who bow and prostrate."}

Hadith 217
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: { طَهِّرَا بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ } قَالَ: كَانَتْ فِيهِ أَصْنَامٌ، فَأُمِرَا أَنْ يُخْرِجَاهَا مِنْهُ .
Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said about the verse: ﴿Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf﴾: There were idols placed in it, so they were commanded to remove them from there.
