قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُعَمَّرَ}
His saying, the Exalted: "And among those who associate others with Allah, some wish they could live a thousand years, but it would not remove them from the punishment even if they lived that long."

Hadith 201
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ } قَالَ: هُوَ قَوْلُ الْأَعَاجِمِ إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ: زه هزار سال . ¤ - يَعْنِي أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ -
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in the explanation of this verse: "Each one of them wishes that he could be granted a life of a thousand years" __QUR_N__, says: "This is the saying of the non-Arabs; when one of them sneezes, it is said to him: 'May you live a thousand years,' meaning, may you live a thousand years."
