Hadith 194
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا } قَالَ: لِلنَّاسِ كُلِّهِمْ، لِلْمُشْرِكِ وَغَيْرِ الْمُشْرِكِ .
Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding Allah Almighty’s statement: “And speak kindly to people” (__QUR_N__): “This refers to all people, whether they are polytheists or non-polytheists.”
Hadith 195
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ: كَانَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ يَقْرَأُ: { وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا }، وَكَانَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يَقْرَأُ: { وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا } .
Abdul Malik bin Abi Sulaiman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite this verse as: "Wa qooloo linnaasi husna," and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to recite it in the same way: "Wa qooloo linnaasi husna."
