Hadith 174
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: نَا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُرَّةُ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: الصِّرَاطُ عَلَى النَّارِ، يَمُرُّ أَوَّلُهُمْ مِثْلَ الْبَرْقِ، ثُمَّ كَالطَّيْرِ، ثُمَّ كَالْفَرَسِ الْجَوَادِ، وَآخِرُهُمْ يَمُرُّ حَبْوًا، وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ قِيَامٌ مَعَهُمْ كَلَالِيبُ مِنْ نَارٍ، يَخْطِفُونَ النَّاسَ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا حَتَّى يَقْذِفُوهُمْ فِي النَّارِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Sirat is over Hell. Some people will cross it like lightning, then some like a bird, then some like a fast horse, and some will cross it crawling on their knees. And the angels will be standing there, with hooks of fire in their hands; they will seize people from the right and the left and throw them into Hell.
Hadith 175
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقْرَأُ: { السِّرَاطَ }، بِالسِّينِ .
Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to recite "As-Sirat" with the letter "Seen."
