الْآيَةُ (151) قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {وَلا تَقْرَبُوا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ}Verse (151) His saying, Mighty and Majestic: {And do not approach immoralities—what is apparent of them and what is concealed}
Hadith 934

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ } - قَالَ: مَا ظَهَرَ، كَانُوا يَمْشُونَ حَوْلَ الْبَيْتِ عُرَاةً، وَمَا بَطَنَ الزِّنَا .
Muhammad bin Qais, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted: ﴿إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ﴾ said: «مَا ظَهَرَ» That is, the apparent indecency refers to the fact that they used to circumambulate the House of Allah naked, and «مَا بَطَنَ» that is, the hidden indecency refers to adultery.
