Hadith 9

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ تَلَا آيَةً مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنِ اسْتَمَعَ آيَةً مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ حَسَنَةً مُضَاعَفَةً .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever recites a verse from the Book of Allah, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever listens to a verse from the Book of Allah, Allah will write double the reward for him."
