حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ الْهُنَائِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ (1)، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو حَكِيمَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، قَالَ: أَتَى عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَأَنَا أَكْتُبُ مُصْحَفًا، فَجَعَلَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى كِتَابِي، فَقَالَ: أَجِلَّ قَلَمَكَ، فَقَضَمْتُ مِنْ قَلَمِي قَضْمَةً، ثُمَّ جَعَلْتُ أَكْتُبُ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، نَوِّرْهُ كَمَا نَوَّرَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ .
Abu Hakimah Al-Abdi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, came to me while I was writing a Mushaf, so he began to watch me write and said: "Make your pen beautiful." So I sharpened my pen, then began to write, and he looked again and said: "Yes!" Then he said: "Clarify it as Allah has clarified."
