قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَكَفَّارَتُهُ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَاكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَلِكَ كَفَّارَةُ أَيْمَانِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَاحْفَظُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ} .His (Allah's) saying: {But its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it]—then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths}
Hadith 792
اُردوEn
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ (1)أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: كُلُّ طَعَامٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ فَهُوَ نِصْفُ صَاعٍ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Wherever the mention of "ta‘am" (food) occurs in the context of expiation in the Qur'an, it refers to half a sa‘.
Brief Explanation
(1) It is the same in the Dar al-Sumai'i edition, and perhaps: (bin) here is superfluous. See the sources of the biography, and Allah knows best.
