قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَكَفَّارَتُهُ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَاكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَلِكَ كَفَّارَةُ أَيْمَانِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَاحْفَظُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ} .His (Allah's) saying: {But its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it]—then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths}
Hadith 785

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ يَسَارِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَأْتِينِي، فَيَسْأَلُنِي، فَأَحْلِفُ أَنْ لَا أُعْطِيَهُ، ثُمَّ يَبْدُو لِي فَأُعْطِيهِ، فَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكَ أَنْ تُكَفِّرَ عَنِّي، فَأَطْعِمْ عَشَرَةَ مَسَاكِينَ، لِكُلِّ مِسْكِينٍ نِصْفُ صَاعٍ مِنْ قَمْحٍ، أَوْ صَاعٌ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، أَوْ تَمْرٍ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sometimes a person comes to me and asks me for something, so I swear that I will not give him anything, then my heart changes and I give him something. So when I tell you to offer expiation on my behalf, then feed ten needy people, giving each needy person half a sa’ of wheat or one sa’ of barley or dates.
