Hadith 78

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { إِنَّا أَنْـزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ } قَالَ: أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةً عَلَى جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، وَكَانَ جِبْرِيلُ يَجِيءُ بَعْدُ إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: "Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night" (Surah Ad-Dukhan [44:3]), Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Qur'an was sent down all at once to Gabriel (peace be upon him), then Gabriel (peace be upon him) would bring it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) afterwards.
