قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {لا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يُؤَاخِذُكُمْ بِمَا عَقَّدْتُمُ الأَيْمَانَ} .His (Allah's) saying: {Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oaths}
Hadith 777

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: هُوَ الرَّجُلُ يَحْلِفُ عَلَى الشَّيْءِ ثُمَّ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذَلِكَ، وَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A vain oath is when a person swears an oath about something, and then assumes that the matter is as he swore, while in reality it is otherwise.
