Hadith 73

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: نَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، أَوْ غَيْرِهِ - شَكَّ حَمَّادٌ - قَالَ: مَنْ قَرَأَ: { إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ } فَكَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَ نِصْفَ الْقُرْآنِ، وَمَنْ قَرَأَ: { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَمَنْ قَرَأَ: { قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ } فَكَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ .
It is narrated from Musayyib bin Rafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) or someone else (Hammad is unsure) that whoever recites Surah ﴿إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ﴾, it is as if he has recited half of the Qur’an; and whoever recites Surah ﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ﴾, it is as if he has recited a quarter of the Qur’an; and whoever recites Surah ﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ﴾, it is as if he has recited a third of the Qur’an.
