Hadith 72

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْزَلَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ آمِرًا وَزَاجِرًا، وَسُنَّةً خَالِيَةً، وَمَثَلًا مَضْرُوبًا، فِيهِ نَبَؤُكُمْ وَنَبَأُ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ وَخَبَرُ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَحُكْمُ مَا بَيْنَكُمْ، مَنْ قَالَ بِهِ صَدَقَ، وَمَنْ خَاصَمَ بِهِ فَلَجَ، وَمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ أُجِرَ، وَمَنْ تَمَسَّكَ بِهِ هُدِيَ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ، لَا يُخْلِقُهُ طُولُ الرَّدِّ، وَلَا تَنْقَضِي عَجَائِبُهُ .
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah the Mighty and Majestic has revealed this Qur'an as a judge, a prohibitor, the traditions of previous nations, examples, your news, the news of those before you, the news of those after you, and as a means of judgment among you. Whoever speaks according to it is truthful, whoever argues by it is successful, whoever acts upon it will be rewarded, and whoever holds firmly to it will be guided to the straight path. Its frequent recitation does not make it old, and its wonders do not end.
