Hadith 714

Mak’hool (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about the sacrifices of the People of the Book on their festivals and the specific slaughtered animals in their churches, so he recited this verse: “This day all good things have been made lawful for you. The food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them.” Then he said: Their food is their slaughtered animals.
