حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْكَلَاعِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: أَعْرِبُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ عَرَبِيٌّ، وَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي السُّنَّةِ، وَأَحْسِنُوا عِبَارَةَ الرُّؤْيَا، وَإِذَا قَصَّ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا فَلَنَا، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا فَعَلَى عَدُوِّنَا .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: Recite the Qur'an correctly according to the rules of Arabic, for it is in Arabic; acquire understanding in the Sunnah; interpret dreams in a good manner; and when any of you relates a dream to his brother, let him say: "O Allah! If it is good, let it be for us, and if it is evil, let it be upon our enemy."
