قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {لَيْسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلا أَمَانِيِّ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ وَلا يَجِدْ لَهُ مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ وَلِيًّا وَلا نَصِيرًا * وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلا يُظْلَمُونَ نَقِيرًا} .His (Allah's) saying: {It will not be in accordance with your desires or those of the People of the Book. Whoever does wrong will be recompensed for it, and he will not find besides Allah a protector or a helper. And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer—those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even as much as] the speck on a date seed}
Hadith 694

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَيْصِنٍ، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ: { مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ } شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: قَارِبُوا وَسَدِّدُوا فَإِنَّ كُلَّ مَا يُصَابُ بِهِ الْمُسْلِمُ كَفَّارَةٌ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةِ يُشَاكُهَا وَالنَّكْبَةِ يُنْكَبُهَا .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When this verse was revealed: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it" (__QUR_N__), it was very hard on the Muslims. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: Remain close and adopt moderation, for whatever befalls a Muslim becomes an expiation for him, even the thorn that pricks him and the stumble that he takes.
