قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنْكُمْ طَوْلا أَنْ يَنْكِحَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فَمِنْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ مِنْ فَتَيَاتِكُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ الْعَنَتَ مِنْكُمْ وَأَنْ تَصْبِرُوا خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَاللهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌHis (Allah's) saying: {And whoever among you cannot [find] the means to marry free, believing women, then [he may marry] from those whom your right hands possess of believing slave girls} to His saying: {That is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful}
Hadith 617

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنْكُمْ طَوْلا أَنْ يَنْكِحَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فَمِنْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ } قَالَ: الطَّوْلُ: الْغِنَى، إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ مَا يَنْكِحُ بِهِ الْحُرَّةَ تَزَوَّجَ أَمَةً .
Saeed bin Jubair, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding the statement of Allah the Exalted: ﴿And whoever among you cannot [find] the means to marry free, believing women, then [he may marry] from those whom your right hands possess﴾, says: By "means" is meant wealth, that is, if someone does not have the financial ability to marry a free woman, then he should marry a slave woman.
