قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ إِلا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ}His (Allah's) saying: {And [also prohibited to you are] married women except those your right hands possess}
Hadith 611

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ } - قَالَ: الْعَفِيفَةُ الْعَاقِلَةُ مِنْ مُسْلِمَةٍ، أَوْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: By ﴿وَالْمُحْصَنَاتِ﴾ is meant a chaste and intelligent woman, whether she is a Muslim or from the People of the Book.
